The video collection
mainly stems from American and French stocks. The video section of
the US army handed over about 1700 tapes to the Allied Museum
in 1994. They cover the period from 1978 to 1994, and
document military scenes or the ´community´ life of Americans in Berlin.
The French videotapes are mainly copies of the ´Aujourd´hui en France´
programme, a news programme run by the French foreign ministry.

| The audio collection of the museum consists
of about 500 audiotapes. About 90% of these stocks were handed over to
the museum in 1994 after the Berlin British Forces Broadcasting
Services (BFBS) was closed down. The audiotapes are comprised of music,
reports and interviews from the period between 1970 and 1994. Audiotapes
from the American Forces Network (AFN) complete the audio collection. |
