"Francis Gary Powers- The Spy who fell from the Sky"
From February 21st to June 13th, the Allied Museum showed the exhibition
AlliiertenMuseum "Francis Gary Powers- The Spy who fell from the
Sky". The shooting down of theAmerican U-2 airplane over Soviet
territory and the pilot's capture in 1960 led to a hardening of
the fronts during the Cold War. The pilot's son, Francis Gary Powers
Jr, put the exhibition together using items taken from the family's
private collection. It was shown outside the USA for the first time.
