Special Exhibition
Photos and Signs from the Collection of the Allied Museum
June 13 - November 2002
With its current exhibit "Photos and Signs" on display until Nov.
10, 2002, the Allied Museum is exhibiting a large portion of its
own photograph collection for the first time, with. approximately
120 slides and framed prints. But rather than developing a purely
photographic exhibit, the Museum instead decided to present the
photos along with an array of Allied signs; thus the title "Photos
and Signs."
The museum's collection includes about 400 signs and several thousand
photographs. The photos and signs span several decades and portray
various aspects of the Allied presence - from their facilities to
their military activities. The exhibition will remind visitors of
how the cityscape of West Berlin was influenced by the presence
of the Western forces.
Admission is free of charge.
