Visit by a Japanese Delegation May 29, 2010
| “In April, 90,000 people had protested against the US Air Force base on the island of Okinawa. The resulting heightened interest in the historical background to German-American relations brought a delegation of Japanese members of parliament to the Allied Museum on May 3, 2010. Museum Director Dr. Gundula Bavendamm gave the guests, who also included the minister from the Japanese embassy and representatives of the Foreign Office, a tour of the permanent collection. Afterwards, the group had a discussion with Karsten D. Voigt, chairman of the Museum’s advisory council and former coordinator of German-American relations, and Dr. Bavendamm, which touched on both historical and current political aspects.”
