The Cold War lasted from 1945 until 1990. While the nuclear threat hovered over the world, people played, and they also played Cold War.
The exhibition “ColdWarGames – It’s All a Game“ is dedicated to games from and about the Cold War era. Discover the world of board games in the 1960s and 1970s and find out why a strategy game was branded as dangerous for children. Explore a GDR computer club and test your skills on the GDR’s only arcade machine. Get to know the current games about the Cold War and let us know what you think: Is it all just a game?
The exhibition is organized in cooperation with the Computerspielemuseum (Museum of Computer Games) and will be on view at the Allied Museum from October 2, 2025 until June 30, 2026.
The exhibition is funded by the LOTTO-Stiftung Berlin.
